In San Diego the "Optimum Health Institute" - the largest raw food health
retreat in the world - has a dinner with a lecture and tour every Sunday
afternoon/ evening. It is either free or very cheap. As for natural food
stores my favorites are "Jimbo's" in North Park and the CO-OP in Ocean
Beach. For restaurants Pacific Beach and Encinitas have several good
places and there is of cause "The Garden Taste" in Del Mar and San Marcos
which serve a few raw dishes. And in San Marcos there is naturally Kirt and
Melisa who I am sure would love to treat you to some well-aged RAF. ;-)
There is a raw food support group in San Diego that meets regularly. For
info call Catherine at (619)698-5969.
>Costa Mesa or environs Aug. 18-22, Sep. 15-19 ???
In Costa Mesa "Mother's Market" is a great place to shop. Also, in Costa
Mesa a raw food oriented group meets the last Wednesday of each month at
the local "Soup Plantation" for dinner. For info email Sandy at
<[log in to unmask]> or call the coordinator, Wally at (714) 898-6850.
I hope that your trip will not be all work and that you will be able to
send us back some adventurous reports. :-)
Best, Peter
