For anyone interested in a macrobiotic diet, I wound up at a conference the
other day run by Michio Kushi's institute, as i was meeting with a political
group fighting a bill that registered dietitians wanted to pass that could
have given them a monopoly on nutritional advice in massachusetts. Anyway,
everyone was really nice and I'd say free of many of the symptoms of the
S.A.D. However, I noticed a lot of troubling appearances: many were
overweight or grossly gaunt looking. I mean, I am thin, but I look strong and
healthy. Michio Kushi's son had serious tooth problems, worse than pictured
in Price's work, and was hunched over and frail looking. nice man, though.
This, I think, is the trouble when beliefs override instinct.

If anyone on this list lives in Massachusetts and is interested in educating
our state officials and school officials regarding nutrition, contact me. I'm
considering a proposal designed to raise awareness on the dangers of modern,
processed foods, and may, if I so choose, go through with proposing it.
Please contact me privately at [log in to unmask] if you are interested.
