Personally, I always thought it was sacrilegious to put something like
A1 on a steak. The thinking was, if it is a good steak, it doesn't need
sauce. Purely by chance, tho, I've learned a new way of cooking a
steak. I baste it in olive oil. Just brush one side before putting it
on the grill, then brush the other side before turning it over. No
soaking or anything, and it can turn the toughest steak tender and
juicy. I add, depending on mood, salt, pepper and sometimes garlic salt
to the finished product.
As for ribs and such, I've taken to using a product sold here as
"Louisiana Hot Sauce." The listed ingredients are: peppers, vinegar and
salt. Don't know if that's paleo or not, but I use just a little. MMMM
