Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to try the feeder mice
route, well-frozen. I think I'd be overwhelmed with bad karma if
I tried the live ones, let alone I don't have the heart to do that :-)
and I'll probably have to get another blender too (but would a true
non-squeamish paleo-person have two blenders? ;-) As an aside
in this tale, my cat is a biiiiig cat, and he doesn't eat more than
2/3 cup of dry food a day, but since his last vet visit, his weight
still increased although I decreased his 1+ cup a day. A fine feline
Atkins candidate! So maybe this will help him out, "beyond Atkins".
Thanks again,
Meg
P.S. Just tonight I went by "Seattle's Finest" exotic meat store
and got a frozen pound each of farmed New Zealand venison and farmed
buffalo, to try something other than cow and chicken. I was surprised
at the variety they offer- alligator, ostrich, python, goat, nilgai,
rattlesnake, Texas wild boar, rabbit, elk, kangaroo, frog, quail,
caribou, cobra, etc. It is a store lined with cold-storage cases!
Their brochure lists a website, www. exoticmeats.com. (Nope, I'm not
connected!) It wasn't cheap, though, I spent $10.44 on both. Maybe
I'll stick to the mundane stuff.
