Hi--I made up carbohydratism.  I mentioned on one of the lists that I'm
Northern European and they didn't have long growing seasons, so my
immediate ancestors have probably been going way overboard on
carbohydrates.  There are signs of autoimmune problems in my ancestry.
I'm not sure exactly when this dietary maladaptation occurred, but my
ancestors in the last century were Mormon pioneers crossing the plains.
I think I remember reading something about bags of flour.  I'm not sure
exactly how much meat they ate.  I think buffalo were killed along the
way, and maybe they ate the poor oxen that died, I don't know (gross
thought).  I'm a vegetarian still.  I may have to take iron pills if I
eliminate grain totally.  Ray mentions people not getting the necessary
enzymes to process iron if they don't eat meat. I'm just trying to
figure it all out.  Mary J.
