Dear All
I have known for about a week that I could be a possible Celiac. My
IgG level was 69 U/mL. The IgA level was 41 U/mL. Is this in the
range for Celiacs? I am also anaemic - as well as getting all the
other signs and symptoms that I have read about on Celiac sites - the
dermatitis, tingling in fingers, bone pain, heavy periods, and now,
sensitivity to chemicals, sore stomach and asaeophagus.
What I am wondering is are the IgG and IgA levels high enough (though
I hadn't had much gluten at the time of testing) and what other
autoimmune disease might I have ? I do not want to have a biopsy
because of my present soreness. Have been gluten free for a week and
my stomach bloating (which I had had for three weeks) has gone down.
Am 43 years old. When I look back over my life, I can see signs that
I never linked with Celiac before. I can also see signs in my two
sisters, their children and mine.
I would appreciate any comments as my doctor will not give my sons a
blood test unless I first have a biopsy.
Thank you.
