Of course, some foods that can be eaten raw are often considered to be best
cooked, like broccoli and carrots - now why I can't tolerate them unless
raw I haven't figured out unless some of the raw food theories have grains
of truth. Actually I haven't tried cooked carrots alone yet - it might be
only the cooked green foods that cause me problems.
And regarding tomatoes, as a matter of fact, I keep reading about lycopene
and reduced risk of prostate cancer, and how it is better absorbed from
cooked or processed tomatoes (so now we can pig out on Dominos and feel good
about it). Heinz I think mentioned lycopene in an ad for ketchup to try to
promote it as a health food!
