Judy:
>Thanks, Tom, for your recipe ideas! I would love to hear any of the
>raw vegan meals/recipes people on the list eat. It would be a nice
>addition to the list for people to share recipes or meal
>ideas.
And thanks to you as well, Judy for sharing your creative recipes. Your
basil-watercress salad looks delicious and I hope to give it a try
soon.
The best raw (vegan) recipe book I have come across is "The High
Integrity Diet" by Michael Blair Schleyer. The book has been out of
print for a while but I see the Santa Monica Co-Op is now selling it.
There is no publisher, the book is a self-made manuscript but if anyone
is interested in the book call the Co-Op - I do not have the number
handy but the area code is 310 - and ask them how they got it.
Here are a some recipes from the book:

1 c. stalk celery, chopped
1/2 c. almonds, ground
1 shallot, chopped

Toss and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Seaweed Salad

1/4 c. carrot juice

3 T. lemon juice
1 c. finely diced celery

Put the almonds and the 2 carrots through the
Champion. Mix all the ingredients together
well with a fork.

Mix in large bowl and serve on a bed of lettuce or
spouts.
Hiziki in the Pink
1 c. hiziki, soaked (seaweed)
1 c. basic seed cheese
1 c. red sauerkraut
Mix together in bowl. Refridgerate until serving.
Two good sites for raw (vegan)recipes can be found at:
<http://www.rawtimes.com/ recipes.html>
Also, I did a search in the raw-food archives with the word "recipes"
and came up with 180 matches.
Bon Appetit!
Best, Peter
