The book you describe reminds me much of THE PALEOLITHIC PRESCRIPTION, but
what was the title and author again?

We're pregnant now and already planning home schooling. Given what we do
for a living it's hard to think of ways to make the kids help (it's all on
computers, like technical writing and web development and whatnot) but I've
long wondered about that since I've long believed that one of the problems
we have in society is how long it takes some children to learn the basic
laws of economics (such as TANSTAAFL) because most kids don't grow up
either having to work for their "daily bread" or even understanding what it
is their parents do to make the lights burn and the house warm at night.
