Good question.  I'd tend to think that it's due to the meat and fat, which
are pretty calorically dense, but I'm not a doctor or nutritionist.  Ray
Audette might be able to tell you, he's done the research.

Anyway, getting rid of gluten and sugar has made a huge difference in my
health, that's for sure.
