I will have you know that I am a veteran of the Green Brain wars.
This childhood activity consisted of teams (armies? divisions? squadrons?)
standing on opposite sides of a steep ravine in a densely vegetated Green
Brain orchard hurling brains skyward in enormously high arcs (proximate to
catenary curves as demonstrated in the St. Louis Arch). Their descent to
terra firma from near vertical was only briefly announced by a hushed
rustle whispered from overhead. A particularly dangerous pastime for me,
given my congenitally-delivered hearing disability.
