"A chemical burn down your backside from free flowing acid while you are lost
in a cave cannot be a pleasant demise"

I'm looking for information on how to intelligently interface built
constructions and cave environments. Example: for installation of stainless
steel threaded rod in limestone what would be an appropriate detail,
appropriate materials ie. polyester resin, grout or epoxy for fixative?
Avoidance of pressure treated lumber? Avoidance of rosewood? Electrical
installations -- how to connect them to the cave walls? Construction with
low-impact on the environment, do no harm, reversability. How can historic
preservation practices & technology be applied to cave conservation?
