(I know I over quoted, I couldn't find a way to cut it!)
Beverle,
You sound like a wonderful person. But as a guy who grew up fat and has
had only short-lived bouts of normalcy, I can attest to the experience that
your kind are few and far between. I sincerely hope that Karl finds
someone like you. I personally have. My wife seems oblivious to my
weight. When I told her that I was going to start lowcarb, her reaction
was to say that she'd be glad if I weighed less because then I'd be
healthier and be around longer. But people like you and her are hard to
find, I think. I know I went through some significant dry spells (measured
in years) in my life, and they were the times where I was fat (I was
in-between when I met my wife). I'd have women interested in me when I
lost weight, but when I gained it back, nothing. It's really just as bad
for the overweight guy as it is for overweight women, if not worse.
Take care,
John Pavao

Get a grip guy!. What does your weight have to do with it? Can you
make a girl laugh? Can you make her feel good about herself? Can you
find anything to make you feel good about yourself? I am 51 years old
now and married. When I was younger I was a very nice looking woman and
could have my choice of admirers. Their weight - even their appearance
in general had nothing to do with anything. They had to be fun and
interesting. Please, please don't put your life on hold until you lose
weight! You will never have a life because you will never be happy.
You are basing your happiness on tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. Be
warm, sincere, honest, complimentary, giving, fun and sharing and you
will find friends and dates wherever you go. Make the most of the way
you look now. Clean, good smelling <g>, neat and well-groomed in
general. You don't want to be around anyone who judges you solely on
your weight. Cultivate the interior and stick with the people who look
for and see your soul.
