mechanized." As pointed out in NeanderThin, food is abundant in
Hunter-Gatherer societies. Starvation is quite rare, etc. The
food-on-demand that Americans enjoy doesn't cause obesity. (It adds to
it, no doubt, but in America the poor - those least likely to have excess
money to spend on food and most likely to be doing high-caloric labor -
are the fattest). Rather it is the type of food. I could eat five pounds
of ribs in a sitting and either maintain or loose weight for the week, but
just one loaf of bread spread out over the course of a week could make me
gian untold pounds - and sorrows.
Trust me, I KNOW that my meat comes from domesticated animals
raised on farms. I feel that Zerzan's analisys of agriculture as the
demon engine of our present anticivilization is a good one.
