Hi,

I have come across some gluten-free products in Melbourne (Australia)
and thought the info could be beneficial to local people.

New Packaging increases Shelf-life to 3-4 weeks

Allergyfree Products has adopted a new packaging for its products to
increase shelf-life and freshness. In contrast to wheat grain,
the grain alternatives used in our products tend
to absorb moisture after baking.

Our new packaging process creates a vacuum by withdrawing all air,
and replacing it with carbon dioxide and nitrogen without any
oxygen. As air is a mixture of oxygen, carbon dioxide and
nitrogen, this is a benign process.


What Happens when the Product is opened

Allergyfree products do not include any preservatives.
Hence, depending on the rate of consumption, it is usually
preferable to feeze Allergyfree bread products
upon opening.
Bread which has been frozen can be
freshened up by placing in a microwave oven for
5-10 seconds (but no more). Allergyfree cakes do
not need to be frozen.

Delivery to your door - no more hunting around or making a
special trip to the shops

To ensure your supply of glutenfree products, you can order
direct from Allergyfree by telephone, fax or mail, and pay
by credit card or cheque. There is a minimum order
of $24, which includes postage and handling.
