Whole Foods Markets in Southern California are now selling some great
tasting and reasonably priced pastured beef, veal and lamb from New
Zealand. The meats are from an outfit called Outlands - from their website
<http://www.outlands.co.nz/> :
How is Outlands Natural New Zealand Beef different?
Unlike conventional beef Outlands Natural N.Z. Beef comes from cattle
raised from birth to bite, outside on ranches with evergreen pastures in
"social happiness" mobs. It is young and fast grown. Every piece can be
traced back to its source and is therefore subject to very rigorous
H.A.C.C.P. monitoring systems.
What does natural mean to us?
It means that we are doing what nature would prefer. We ensure the
environment is sustainably managed:- by allowing the sun to revitalize our
pasture salads, by planting trees/forests, by establishing wet lands for wild
life, by allowing cattle to range freely while feeding and finishing. And of
course we have never added, steroids, antibiotics, preservatives, hormones
or growth promotants. But better still our country that does not suffer from
any major Northern hemisphere pollution problems. Our country has a
nuclear free policy.
Happy New Year!
Peter
