I am quite convinced that our ancestors came out of Africa so resently
that we have to look at that environment to find what surely edible.
That leaves lots of vegetable food out, but also means that quite much
of the correct vegetable species should be in.
For example bananas are not native to Africa. People in S E Asia may
have encountered then some 50 - 100 KYA, but my ancestors did not see
them until my parents generation. They contain about 1 % protein, wich
must be considered foreign (or is it the same protein in all fruits,
including bananas wich grows on a herb instead of a tree?).
Please give me a list of vegetables that are edible and grow in Africa
(and have done so for at least 1 million years) and tell me where I
can get them fresh and at a reasonable price. Then I will start real
paleodiet on the safe side.
