my urologist recently prescribed Proscar for me to be taken daily. Since I
appeared to have a "gut reaction" (it COULD have been some food I
ate) I called pharmaceutical company that produces it - Merck(800-672-6372).
I was assured by a very helpful authority at Merck that proscar is G-F,
that the starch binder consists of cornstarch and no  other ingredient
could possibly be harmful.
