I don't know if -raw- soybeans are -poisonous-, though they are undigestable
unless cooked properly (which, in my experience, requires a pressure
cooker: 12 hours of ordinary boiling wouldn't do it!)

Immature, green soybeans are eaten, though I don't know how they are
prepared (it's a Japanese thing). They are available in supermarkets here
in Hawaii.

As for tofu being poisonous? I'd like to hear you expand on this.
