Though one dermatologist somewhat frowns on the use of it, saying that
the body could build up a immunity to it if used a *lot*, my old
standby is Lanacaine (spelling?).  It's available in the same aisle as
Preparation H and all that!

I agree with the person who wrote about cortisone (spelling?):  it
didn't help me much for temporary relief.  Before a biopsy was done
nine years ago, a dermatologist tried cortisone on me unsuccessfully.
