I need your help...
Before going gluten-free, I had applied for some insurance. Not wanting
to lie, I told them about my recent trips to a regional heart center for
treatment of high-blood-pressure. After having a multitude of tests,
the cardiologist simply told me that high-blood-pressure was just a part
of "you being you" and there was nothing that could be done about it
(they couldn't find anything wrong).
After going on the gluten-free diet, my blood pressure has stabilized to
a normal range. My cardiologist (at one of East Tennessee's most
prestigious regional heart centers) told me that Celiac Disease would
have "absolutely nothing" to do with blood pressure.
To make a long story short, I was denied insurance because my records
(from The Heart Institute) reflect that Celiac Disease can have NO
effect on blood-pressure.
I scheduled a visit with him next week and I need an arsenal of
information to prove him otherwise. I would love to get from the users
of this list any information, links to information, personal
testimony's, ANYTHING that I can take in and TEACH THIS DOCTOR that
Celiac CAN affect blood pressure.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, I will let you know how I make
out.
By the way, any personal testimony's would carry more clout if you could
list a doctor's name, region, phone #, etc.
