the main difference, to me, was atkins allows dairy, and carbs in
moderation, keeping it below your CCL.
neanderthin disallows dairy, and zero-tolerates the 'forbidden' grains
totally.  i like that you can eat fruit, i have a sweet tooth.

i think neanderthin works so well for me because:
 1) i am type 'O' blood, and according to D'Adamo's book, this type does
well on high red meat/low carb diets (i cut out all pork products after
reading it), and
2) i am basically northwestern european, ie-celtic/saxon/nordic
ancestry(those guys they pull out of bogs occasionally would fit right in to
any of my family photos, given an outfit from Wal-Mart), and from what i've
heard, this type tends to do well on paleo-diet.
