I've read the "Food Flash" article in Allure, and I think that on the whole
it's not too bad. It does acknowledge that Celiac is a serious, life long
disease, even though it claims that it's rare in the US. Obviously that is
a strange thing to say if there is a genetic link and CD is not rare in
Europe... do CD genes not travel well? Anyway, I think it's a good thing
that CD is even mentioned in a main stream journal, even if imagining a
smart-aleck restaurant owner question my statement that I can't eat wheat
makes me quite upset. I think it's better if people think that CD is rare,
than if they don't even know it exists.
