>Bob, How can you advise a pregnant woman to fast for a week or two?
>If she follows your advice and the fetus is damaged in the process by
>a lack of nutrients or by an overload of circulating toxins, how will
>you live with yourself?
I stand by what I said, Peter. Either you believe in Natural Hygiene or
you don't. The body will set its own priorities appropriate to the
situation. The human body is much more intelligent than we are. A loss
of appetitie, nausea, indicates the body's need for rest, not feeding.
If Susie listens to her body's signals, she will know when to break the
fast without harming her fetus.
However hard it is for you to believe, I toxemia can result no matter
how many years someone has been eating raw foods. There are many causes
of toxemia: overdoing (overeating) of raw foods, inadequate rest and
sleep, air pollution, stress, for example. In Susie's case, it may most
likely be due to stress and/or inadequate rest and sleep, but I'm only
guessing. I on't know Susie personally. Whatever the cause, she needs
physiological rest, as complete a rest as possible, i.e., fasting
BZ-style (total relaxation, eyes closed and in bed as many hours/per day
as possible).
