I sympathize, Carl. I got oversugared on too much fruit, even on a 100%
raw food diet. I'm doing better now since my 5-day juice (veg) diet
followed immediately by a 15-day water diet (true fast) in Feb/Mar. If
you try something similar, and then go 100% raw, i think you will be able
to limit yourself to 1.25 lbs sweet fruit/day, which seems to be a safe
limit. What I found after the fast was that even my veggies tasted
sweeter than before, so i was getting my sugar kicks from celery and
cukes and lettuce even.
Mental frogginess has also been a problem for me, and it seems to get
worse with more fruit (sugar). Nuts and avos (but not too many --- avos
are fruit too) seem to be gradually helping this condition.
But those confectionery sugars --- I think you gotta go cold turkey, I'm
afraid, to try to get rid of *those* cravings.
Whenever we get in over our heads, a nice long water fast usually resets
everything. Then we need to be very careful for the first 2 refeeding
weeks. After that, you can get into any kind of groove you want, I
think.
Best wishes,
Bob Avery ([log in to unmask])
