gc,
i can feel myself doing myself in the moment pride starts to form...
if I do a great job at something, all i can do is simply enjoy feeling
proud...
as if i am proud of me...
the way i'd be proud of someone else...
the way 'god' would be proud of himself for his creations...
which ultimately, are his/her creations...
since i did not invent my hands...
the central theme in any psychological quality...
is that it remain balanced...
as soon as it becomes excessive...
it harms everyone...
as soon as it becomes repressed...
it harms everyone...
being overly self-critical harms everyone...
just as much as being overly prideful...
neither one is honest...
or balanced...

A little ditty I try to remember:
"Doing a good job is like wetting your pants in a dark suit: You get a warm
feeling all over, but nobody knows it but you.";-)
