Hi,

I've been eating 95-99% raw vegan foods since the beginning of April (after
having been on a vegan cooked & raw diet previously for many years). My
diet has included mostly salads, with a lot of varied sprouts. I throw in
anything I can find: dandelion greens, raw sweet potato, corn kernels,
olives, sun dried tomatoes, arame, wakame, or dulse, buckwheat and sunflower
greens, garlic chives, avocado, etc. Usually with flaxseed oil. I also eat
some fruit and nuts, the latter usually not soaked. Most foods are organic.

A few days ago, I developed a "floater" in one of my eyes. I'm wondering if
it has come about because of some deficiency in my diet. I haven't eaten
any grains for two and a half months. Therefore, last night, I made a bowl
of cooked quinoa. Tonight I plan to eat some cooked millet.

I'm wondering how to proceed. I have an appointment scheduled with an
ophthalmologist in a week, but I don't imagine he'll be helpful in pointing
out the possible cause of the floater. (Unless it's from rubbing my eyes.)
And I have heard from friends that they don't usually go away. I'm not
thrilled with this idea, as I'm very visual.

If anyone has any knowledge about what causes floaters or how to prevent
others in the future (or make this one disappear), I'd appreciate hearing
from you.

Thanks,

Judy
