Tom:
Welcome to the list! Just a note - the usual standard to call oneself a
raw-fooder is 75+% raw (not 100%), so you are/were a raw fooder for some
months now.

Tom:
I have some files on sprouting, also one on nuts, and one on milk substitutes
from sprouts. These have been posted here multiple times, so I won't repost
them again. You (and/or any other new reader) can request them via e-mail
to me.

Low body weight is often a problem - some things that might help are:
* stress bearing exercise (limited use of light weights - no heavy weights),
* eat heavier foods like nuts, dates
* eat raw dairy (if you have no objections)
* eat some cooked food --> you may lose even more weight if you stay on 100%
raw! (Sprouts might help you go 100% raw, but it is also possible that you
won't get enough calories from them - try and see.)

The latter suggestion - continuing to eat some cooked food - should be given
serious consideration. Many 100% raw people are quite thin, unless they use
raw dairy/are instinctos, or eat a huge meal (gluttony) at night. Ask yourself
what is more important: maintaining a comfortable body weight and your strength,
or trying to achieve 100% raw for (questionable?) reasons?

One additional suggestion - look in the list archives for last month, the
set of articles with "EXPO" in their title. Those articles provide a real
counterpoint for some of the nonsense in the raw foods field. I would also
strongly recommend checking out Chet Day's web site: http://www.chetday.com
There are some great articles there - see the interview with Ward Nicholson,
also the "3 Generations of Natural Hygienists". The EXPO material, less one
article, is also at Chet's site. Anyway, the above items will be good reading
for people who are new to raw foods!

Again, welcome to the list, and good luck in your raw pursuits!

Regards,
Tom Billings
