But ideology is a great reinforcer of behavior.  If you believe something
is bad (morally evil), you will probably avoid it--more so than if you
believe it to be bad (physically unhealthy).
That said, I agree with Dean that the diet must stand on empirical
grounds--how physically healthy, how environmentally healthy it is.  Or
else we will end up like the Baker, and discover the Snark was a Boojum,
after all.
