Mona, I would start with "Manufacturing Consent," CO-written with Edward
Herman.  It is a good primer on Chomsky's views of the media, and why he gets
so little exposure in the US media.

Another good choice, (perhaps even better), would be "The Chomsky Reader,"
which has excerpts from many of his books, along with an interview which
reveals both his philosophy and how he came to it.
