What about american involvement in WWII?

There is a long-standing philosophical debate in the "just war"
tradition. I picked up Johnson's "Morality and Contemporary Warfare"
the other day, which at times seems reasonable, but simply accepts too
many assumptions uncritically, like the "fact" that we bombed kosovo
to stop ethnic cleansing.
