What Happened, Comrades?     Did We Defeat NATO?

My, how short our memories are!     Less than a year ago, the entire
World Left was engaged in formulating positions, concerning the military
attack of NATO against Yugoslavia.     A dominant camp,  most clearly
associated with forces like ZNet, Green Left Weekly, The Nation, and
Solidarity,  came to a conclusion that it was necessary to oppose both
Milosevic, and to oppose NATO at the same time.

These Left Social Democratic forces, eagerly lept at the throats of any
Leftists, that were not hypercritical enough of Milosevic,  in the
"conscientous" judgements of the politically correct "leaders" of these
organizations.     We were called apologists for the crimes of Serbian
nationalism.

One of the most activist organizations in mobilizing opposition to the
NATO intervention, Workers World Party, receved a lion's share of
criticism.     All the Left Social Democrat types lined up to
differentiate themselves from these incorrect people, busily trying to
build demonstrations against the US/ NATO terrorist attack on
Yugoslavia.

To those that suggested that more could be done to oppose the US in it's
aggression, came the reply......We have to oppose both Milosevic,  and
US/ European imperialism.      One group formulated this position
as----Yes to Kosovo, No to NATO----

To imply that this position was more YES-KOSOVO, than NO-NATO, would
meet an indignant response.    It was dangerous to do so!     How could
you be such a JERK to not see the equality in our equation?

Well, today we have a "Kosova".     But we still have a NATO, too.
All the Left Social Democrats,  seem to have accepted the official
announcement by NATO, that the war is over!    That's good enough for
them!      No need to continue the campaign of .....No to NATO!

Hey!     The Bombs are not falling!     And the cameras have stopped
rolling!      The war is over for us!     Let's talk WTO.     Or move on
to worrying about the Ruskie mistreatment of the Chechens!    Let's do
it again, but somewhere else!

On the Web Sites of the Left SDs, there is no campaign to get NATO out
of The Balkans.      There is no drive to build an Antiwar movement.
Yes to Kosovo--this demand was won, the issue is now dead.    Unless of
course, the capitalist propaganda machine puts it's focus on Milosevic
again.

All that talk about the evil Milosevic, and  now a lot of silence about
NATO.      It seems that that position of......Yes to Kosovo, No to
NATO.... wasn't so balanced after all.      You were tricking
yourselves!     Though, not others.

I invite the leaders of the Yes-Kosovo, No NATO position, to let us know
about their hidden away anti-NATO campaign.     Correct us, if we are
mistaken about your inactivity!    Go ahead!
