This is not necessarily true.  The accomplishment of the goals, providing the
goals truly reflect the general interests of the population, would reinforce
the legitimation of the current administration and legislature.  Presently,
the representatives of the people within a parliamentary system must appear
to be accomplishing goals that also appear to be in the general interests of
the population.  The results in a, we the citizens, versus, them the
politicians.  As you can tell this problematic has opened a large can of
worms about the motives of politicians.
