Pellagra (literally means "rough skin") and is related to a high corn
diet in that such a diet is deficient in tryptophan-containing
proteins. It is classically associated with niacin deficiencies from
dietary deficiency or malabsorption.
s/s: diarrhea, dermatitis and dementia
This may help too, pellagrazein is a poisonous substance in decomposed
cornmeal. It was mistakenly thought to be the cause of pellagra.
