Greetings fellow list members. All those who responded to my call for
help-gather round your computers for a great big group hug! You guys are
terrific!!! The response I received was over-whelming. Ya'll do come to the
aid of your fellow celiacs. In summary- as most of you know is that yes
celiac is probably what is ailing me. Many of you seemed surprised that I
have relied on Dapsone alone all these years. Well, I trusted a very good
well respected dermatologist. You can bet however, that the next time I am
in his office he will be returning to my form of medical school! I started
the GF diet yesterday, (Monday seemed like a good day to start my new life)
had to do some explaining to my son as to why Mom was eating his bread for
her sandwich at lunch. He said that was o.k. just leave his Pamela's swirl
cookies alone-please! (What a kid) I don't feel any better yet - must it
really take as some say about a week to feel better? I happen to be one of
those instant gratification type people ! Many of you encouraged me that
this should be easy since I have been cooking for my son for so long already.
But remember I said he was a diabetic ? I don't know how to enjoy some of
the many other things everyone talks about because of all the things we have
avoided containing sugar. Can anyone give me some ideas that I can enjoy
just for me (say when he is at school)? I'm not even sure about medications
to avoid and such because all I have done for 3 1/2 years is concentrate on
him. I had a headache this a.m. but think I remember that I can't take
Tylenol. (???)

I will try to respond to some of you privately but bare with me-there has
been a lot of mail .

Again "Thanks" from the bottom of my tummy for all your help!!!
