It will correct the B-12 deficiency, but not necessarily the poor
digestion.  For that, you need fasting or perhaps prolonged calorie
restriction.

B-12 alone is sufficient.  I've seen the pills in 1 mg and 500 microgram
sizes.  The body uses only 1-2 micrograms/day, so either dose of a single
pill represents a year's suppy, but it wouldn't hurt to take them
once/month or even once/week. for awhile.  Brewer's yeast is another
vegan food that contains it, which I neglected to mention before, but all
brewer's yeast is cooked (pasteurized), not raw, and the vitamin B-12 is
not native to the yeast anyway, it is added as an artificial supplement
to the yeast by the manufacturer.  But if you prefer to get your B-12 in
a food-like way without eating RAF (liver would be the best choice ---
that's where people and animals store their spare supplies of B-12), then
maybe take some nutritional yeast.

In today's artificial world, with enervating poisons in the air we
breathe, the food we eat, the electromagnetic pollution, and so forth, we
sometimes have to make a few compromises.
