Perhaps leaving starches out of the diet causes the body to leave off making
Amylase, It might be that the saliva takes time to adjust to the intake of starches
thereafter: ( dogs not previously fed starches take maybe 10 days before their saliva
includes amylase ).

It is on record that peoples who eat lots of rice have pancreas size 50%
greater than the average American.

My own experience has been (when I last tried) that initial attempts at
cooked food after long absence caused great discomfort during digestion.

I suggest that if its neccessary to eat cooked food, to take digestive
enzymes with the meal.

chow for now (;>)
