I think the sad thing about the Alaska Eskimos is that the US government won't
leave them alone and let them live their traditional lifestyle i.e. diet. By
that what I mean is they control their traditional whale hunting. They
attempt to control their whale hunting. This would make some sense if they
just set a quota on whale kills but instead the limit the number of strikes
they can have.
So consequently if they have a bad year strike wise they have no winter food.
Then probably are on welfare foodstamps , etc. Don't get me wrong I don't
advocate whale harvesting in other than a traditional setting
