Lynton, I have no special notions about menses, except that ample
diets probably increase the flow.
As to fats, your body makes both fats and cholesterol, more than
taken in with food; the extra food cholesterol may be part of the
problem. And yes, cholesterol is the precursor of both steroid
hormones (like progesterone )and vitamin D.
Farm-feedlot animals have MUCH higher levels of saturated fats,
and more fat, than wild; this affects evaluation of the so-called
Paleodiet. Also, contemporary gatherer-hunters seem to get 60-85% of
their calories from plants. Does anyone have a better breakdown for
fruits, leaves, seeds?
Poisons, whether taken in from plants and unprocessed or donated
by 'high' tech boobs unable to distinguish air and water from garbage
dumps, concentrate in animals, and most of all in predators.
The remarks made about Burger's teeth and other seemingly decrepit
symptoms underline the importance of studying the older enthusiasts
for any scheme, at least the famous ones. For larger studies, we
know of 7th-day Adventists in the US, and the population of India, as
examples of (near)vegetarian diets. Inuit WERE a case of meat eaters,
but are no longer.
I'm interested in hearing from raw-foodists aged (say) 55+ who
have NOT experienced graying of hair. Ann Wigmore's hair recolored
when she adopted her raw vegan diet, and seemed to remain dark till
her accidental death at 85. It would also be useful to hear of
graying BEFORE 55 and the associated diet.
