Elysa Markowitz's new book "Living With Green Power: A Gourmet
Collection of Living Food Recipes" is out and she asked me to post an
announcement on the list on her food sampling event with recipes from
her book. The event is on Saturday, March 22nd between 2-4pm at 1557
Stanford Street #202 in Santa Monica CA.(come hungry). So there will be
enough food for everybody RSVP 310-453-2545.
>From a flyer I got on the event: " In a world full of recipe books, why
one more? For the first time in history, with this book one can
actually see how beautiful uncooked foods are. Delicious full color
photographs on most of the 179 pages tempt the taste buds of even the
most discerning food critic. Of course, there have been other raw food
recipe books, but none with actual pictures of how lovely these gourmet
dishes appear, and none with the technology as advanced as the Green
Power Machine.
Although written for the Green Power Machine, can any of the health
conscious 150 recipes be done without this machine? Certainly. A
blender, a juicer, or a food processor will do. But once you have
experienced what this machine can do, why go back to old fashioned
machines that require more effort? Several facets of this award
winning machine make it a must for any modern kitchen. It's cutting
edge twin gear technology includes magnets and far infrared particles
that enhance the freshness of the foods processed, whether juiced or
homogenized. What does this mean to the average home maker? Simply
put, juice today, and drink the best tasting juice you've ever had
fresh tomorrow. Prepare a pate today, eat it fresh two days from now.
Elysa Markowitz, BA, author, offers a plethora of recipes using foods
we usually buy, prepared with the bonus of preserving the enzymes
mother nature intended us to eat, not cook away. Does this mean a book
of cold foods? No. The pate's, soups, casseroles, breads, or even some
of the desserts can be warmed up. Spices offer other choices of warming
recipes.
What also makes this book delightful, is Elysa's variety of healthy low
fat choices: from juice to smoothies, from puddings to sorbet, from
pesto to pate, this recipe book offers low sodium, dairy and sugar
free, cholestetrol free meal ideas that any chef (experienced or not)
would be proud to serve a hungry guest.
Ms. Markowitz comes to this field with a rich background of education
and experiences from being a Department Chairmwoman of Perinatal Health
Education at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, to being a gourmet
chef in Arizona at Dr.Gabriel Cousen's healing center, to hosting her
own TV show on raw food preparation and health for the last 6 years on
cable TV, "Elysa's Raw & Wild Food Show", seen throughout southern
California, New Mexico, and Northern Texas.
" Elysa's ability to artfully and tastefully combine tastes and texture
with a multiplicity of interesting ingredients and international
recipes takes her work to an exiting level of culinary joy. Her recipes
are a sensual experience." - Dr. Gabriel Cousens. Author of "Conscious
Eating" and "Spiritual Nutrition"
