I am a seventy four year old woman who discoverd she had celiac disease
about one year and a half ago. Before that always had good health but now
and then a bit of diarrhea. however since being diagnosed after a biopsy of
small intestine, i 've been on a no gluten diet. since i live in Madrid
spain, this is more difficult than in the usa. I lost twenty pounds the
first six months of my attack and do not gain back any.I have been afraid
of milk proucts because of allergy to lactose. i developed pernicious
anemia and take b12 injections every two weeks for this. i live a very
active life in sports and socially and writing, I would like to have
suggestions about how to gain weight. also do other celiacs think that it
imnportant to eat small meals and about five times a day? Every now I then
i have relapses of diarrhea -sometimes i suspect due to consuming milk
deserts, other times I cannot tell because i think i'm very careful not to
take gluten. is it possble to drink champagne. i'm not accustomed to
drinking, but I like champagne . sometimes i take aerobic classes which i
used to do daily, but i fear they keep me cfrom gaining weight. can i
overdo exercise? any suggestions gratefully received.
