A few thoughts on Gandhi:
1. I hate to keep harping on the polygamy stuff, but I believe the
old boy used to take several (at one time) naked teenage girls into
the sack with him to test his willpower.
2. Urine drinking- I would not doubt that this might extend
lifespan, but not primarily from anything in the urine. (Indeed, in
spite of anything in the urine.) It is well-known that in lifespan
experiments you have to be sure what you are testing for in the
animals is not something which is simply depressing their appetites,
as this will give you the biggest lifespan increase of all. I would
certainly not be in the mood to eat anything after drinking urine.
3. Melatonin in urine- Melatonin is an outstanding hormone which
shows every early indication of being a good way to cheaply extend
life. It lowers body temperature & is safe & a good antioxidant.
It is not a nutrient, it is a hormone which is easily taken by
mouth. In contrast to the other recently-touted hormone, DHEA,
melatonin is probably safe & good to take. DHEA, no matter what
anybody says, will raise body temperature & appears to accelerate
metabolism, so it is highly unlikely that it will do anything other
than shorten your life in the long run. Since melatonin is rapidly
excreted, I take the straight stuff & the time-released form right
before bed.
