That looks like quite a gourmais (how do you spell that) meal, Peter.

For myself, I am quite lazy when it comes to preparing food ( I will go
across town to buy the best I can get tho).
If its fish (salmon so far) I'll just cut off about 4 oz onto a plate and
eat it till I'm done/full whatever. I am getting careful about the first
bite espescially, chew it over to taste if it feels right ( I think I can
detect if there's something wrong with it).
With meat, I slice it thinner, including the fat ( I buy steak at present,
tho I plan to try some organs soon), and half the time I squirt a bit of
some organic Japanese flavouring. Otherwise its just plain. Again, chew
over the first bit especially well. (The idea is not to reduce it to water,
just to get a good taste of it).
I don't get the same 'enjoyment' while eating RAF as when its been cooked -
but thats unimportant.
I find the taste sort of neutral, eating it is just something I have to do
rather that a need to have great taste sensations.

I have been following with seaweed and onion salad (with flaxseed oil) and
avocado on the side. Later I might have banana. But I'm now experimenting
by having a meal of meat on its own, to see the difference in digestion and
metabolism. I tend to think it works better for me separate.

On eating cooked fish/meat: perhaps the first two apply:
(1) cooked animal food is quite demanding on the metabolism: it drains
enzymes from the body, and so you feel "drained". Enzymes are the basic
measure of vitality (Ed. Howell).
(2) If you have to eat it cooked, take it with heaps of good food enzymes
(from Aspergyllus plant is supposed to be best (EH again). Remember to keep
the food enzymes cool : don't cook them too ;>).

I found myself quite squeemish about eating RAF, and its lessening as I gain
confidence that its doing me good. Starting small and working up seems to
work for me until I did gorge on steak on night, no problems digesting it
tho! There is a part of me that would much rather avoid RAF for emotional
reasons, and another part because of worries of parasites. But I continue
because its the main area I havn't tried, and everyting else has failed.

So, take care of the source of the RAF (see my other posts) and how you look
after it.
and remember, RAF is alive with enzymes, the building blocks of life.
(cooked food is dead, whatever it came from- I can see that cooked does
provide minerals and so on).

I encourage you to do what is right for you.

Regards,
Lynton :>)
