Judy - the place you describe in New York sounds great!
As your post raised the subject, I thought I would mention some news
regarding San Francisco's RAW Restaurant:
1) Juliano, owner and head chef, has a recipe book in preparation.
Hopefully this will be out sometime in the near future - I will advise
if/when I hear anything about it.
2) Not so good news: the RAW Restaurant was recently sharply criticised
on local (San Francisco) radio, by a prominent restaurant critic -
the lead restaurant reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper.
The problem: very slow service. Hopefully that situation will be resolved
soon.
