Note: steel-cut oats have been processed. They can't be considered to be a
live food any more. Oat groats is what to buy. Millet, oat groats, and barley
groats can be put into a jar along with water preheated to 100 degrees F.
Allow this mix to sit over night for 12 hours then rinse several times. This
will activate the starch content in this group. Next, put some sunflower
seeds, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, and rye berries into a large jar then fill it
with room-temperature-water. Allow to soak for 12 hours, then pour off soak
water and rinse contents of jar several times till water is clear. Finally,
place the container in a dark area to keep it away from light so that the
contents will sprout. You can do this for 12 hours or 18 hours or longer. I
find 12 hours is fine. When all this is done mix the two different
preparations. The second group has a high quantity of active enzymes that
will help to digest the first group. For breakfast, I use this prepared
mixture along with dulse flakes sprinkled on top and several ripe organic
bananas.
