I was diagnosed with celiac disease in early childhood and was severely ill.
After three decades of "symptom-free" living, I was rediagnosed at the age
of 35. However, I am proud to announce that I was able to get pregnant
without difficulty. With the excellent prenatal care by my OB who was also
knowledgeable of celiac disease, on April 8 gave birth to a beautiful 9lb,
8.2oz baby girl. Breastfeeding has been somewhat of a challenge. I have
some concerns about the effect of celiac disease and/or a gluten-free diet
on milk production and content. Information or advice would be greatly
appreciated.
