After my HMO did an anti-endymosial antibody test at their lab that came back
negative, I went on a gluten free diet anyway and my symptoms virtually
disappeared. When I told the gastrointerologist this and asked to have a full
celiac serological panel done at an experienced lab, he said he wants instead to
do a 72-hour "fecal fat test." Does anyone know what this is and whether it's
meaningful? Also, he told me to continue the gluten free diet -- won't this
skew the test results? (This is the same doctor who told me there's no blood
test for gluten intolerance, until I showed him the info from this list.)
Thanks much for any advice you can give me.
