One of the things I've started packing in my "emergency provisions"
kit when I travel are the "Bliss Bars" made by Govinda's in San
Diego. I've been able to find them at moderately well-stocked HFS all
over the U.S. A bar, plus a handful of dried fruit, plus something to
drink, makes a passable meal in a pinch, with enough food value
(calories) to keep me going for 3 or 4 hours. They're small enough to
tuck in a sandwich-size ziploc with enough dried fruit for one meal,
and can slip easily into a fanny pack or pocket. They come in a
variety of flavors, and most appear to be GF (made with nuts, seeds,
dried fruit, honey, nut butters and puffed amaranth).
