form of gluten. It seems to me that it's posible that casein-active form will
also cause similar reaction. I quit milk & fill better.

I am finally getting a bread machine. I live in Israel and the only way that I
could get a bread machine was to order one outside Israel and have it shipped
here. Anyway, because I have not been able to find xanthum gum, guar gum etc.
can I use gelatin as a replacement of these gums? [...]34_9Nov199509:00:[log in to unmask] 9511 2716 22 25_too many postings [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 1995 01:05:33 -0800571_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

I have seen a few complaints from people about the content of some
posts as a problem re getting a lot of individual postings. There were
instructions in my intro package that advised how to get all the postings
in one big post with a neat header at the top stating the contents. If
none of it interests you that day you can just save or toss it as one post.
If you can manage to set your mail up this way, and I don't know if some
people's systems [...]40_9Nov199501:05:[log in to unmask] 9511 2739 18 26_celiac, flu, and [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 1995 02:11:14 -0800586_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

Has anyone on the group recently had the flu and suffered from migraines
for quite awhile after the other flu symptoms were gone? I get a few
migraines over the month but since I caught this flu I have had one every
day. I have been sticking to the diet religiously (as far as I know, it's
so easy to make mistakes through ignorance) and for the first month
(pre-flu) my headaches went away. After I caught the flu I just can't
seem to shake them, I get one every [...]40_9Nov199502:11:[log in to unmask] 9511 2758 14 10_Rice Dream25_Debra Boutin-Grad [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 1995 06:58:15 -0500435_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

My mother has bought some Rice Dream (this is like milk but is made with
soy and rice?) read the ingredients to me over the phone and it seems to
be gluten free. I thought I remembered that it was not gluten free
because of rice syrup, but there was none on the list of ingredients.
Can someone educate me here? Thanks [...]45_9Nov199506:58:[log in to unmask] 9511 2773 17 22_Trying to gain weight.25_Debra Boutin-Grad [log in to unmask], 9 Nov 1995 07:00:52 -0500547_- <<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>

My brother was diagnosed with CD about 10 months ago. He stopped losing
weight since going GF, but has not managed to gain weight (135 pounds at
6ft tall). He needs to stay away from dairy and chocolate as well as
gluten. Can anyone suggest ways for him to gain weight? He thinks that
one of the problems is that his diet has fewer carbohydrates and fewer
fats than it did before. Any suggestions you can make would help a lot. [...]45_9Nov19950

I would be interested in putting together a group that would include
celiacs. Somebody earlier mentioned that they have only email access. So,
I propose a survey.

**** If you have Usenet access, and are interested in a food allergy/celiac
group... send me email with the word "celiac" in the subject header
and "yes" in the text.

If you don't have Usenet access, put the word "no" in the text (and "celiac"
in the subject:).

I'll tabulate the results and post them to the list. If you have
ideas, feel free to send me those too (put idea in the header :)

*****Do not send "yes" or "no" to the list******
Make sure it is addressed to:

[log in to unmask]             {and not the celiac list}
Thanks,
