Sorry for my delayed response... My son, who is 3 1/2 years of age was
diagnosed with CD one year ago, last Febuary. This was after the
biopsy came out negative, however the blood test was positive. He had
first been diagnosed with Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis over one year
prior to the CD diagnosis. He had been up to the age of 16 months, 125
percentile in weight and height. At that point he started projectile
vomiting and dropped down ultimately to 5 percentile. He did however,
have chronic diarhea since birth. Upon following the CD diet, his
vomiting has stopped and his loose stools have now finally reduced from
7 a day to aproximately 1 or two fairly firm ones a day. He is back up
to the 5O percentile. Other related issues... He has had chronic
sinusitis since birth, and is now having chronic pneumonia. He has
chronic fevers, which may be due to the chronic sinustis. He complains
that his legs hurt, but we are not sure what that means. He is
allergic to anything with cosmetics. He will break out in rashes,
hives or blisters if such items are in contact with his skin. Thus,
everything is perfume free in our house. According to a RAST test, he
showed allergies to eggs, milk, legumes, soy, citrus and of course
wheat. Is it all related to CD???? I have yet to figure it out. In
any event, it appears you are not alone in having other seemingly
related autoimmune disorders. Take care.

Diane
